Many Norwegian jewelers made spoons having the same wirework which were enameled in different colors. This provided diversity in the showcase and more temptation for the tourist, all at no additional production cost.
The fourth major jeweler making plique-à-jour souvenir spoons, Georg Adam Scheid in Vienna, never varied his color palette.
